It is no secret that the time between Christmas and New Year is crazy busy. Most who have experienced it, at least once, tend to stay away. But, if you find yourself there during this time, or any really busy time, it might be an opportunity to think of some new, creative ways to enjoy yourself.
Several years ago I was Solo in the Magic Kingdom on New Years Day. After walking around the busy park, getting something to eat and enjoying one of my favorite pastimes – people watching – I remembered I had my iTouch and some earbuds in my pocket. I was going to just catch up on some Disney related podcasts when I realized I had transferred Lou Mongello’s Main Street USA – Walt Disney World Audio Tour to my device.
As I began to listen to it I realized the “Tour” was just that. A step by step walk with “virtual Lou” down Main Street USA. So I stopped the recording, walked to the Main Entrance and started listening again. I have to say it was a most informative and educational walk down Main Street, USA.
Lou has done his homework and includes detail about the buildings, shops and windows. It was a beautiful trip down Main Street and excellent history lesson. At the time I took the “tour”, Main Street USA was the only Audio Guide available. Now Lou has completed guides for Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frountierland, Liberty Square and Tomorrowland. Looks like I need to get down to the Magic Kingdom and get caught up.
So what is your “Plan B” while at Disney World?
